How to Send International Fax?

There are three ways of faxing internationally:

1- With a fax machine or personal all-in-one printer that is capable of faxing
2- With online fax services
3- With Gmail

1- With a fax machine OR personal all-in-one printer that is capable of faxing

Before starting, make sure that your device is capable of international faxing.
Compose the recipient dialing number which is the most confusing step. Here is the formula for recipient number composing:

EXIT CODE + COUNTRY CODE + LOCAL FAX NUMBER

EXIT CODE: Sender's own countries exit code. For example, you are sending from USA, use the exit code of USA.
COUNTRY CODE: Recipient Country code. For example, you are sending fax to FRANCE, then use the country code of FRANCE.
LOCAL FAX NUMBER: This is the number that you intended to send fax and I think you already have it.

To learn about your country codes and exit codes, you can visit here.

By using above formula, you have the recipient fax number composed.

  • Connect your machine to phone line
  • Place your documents to the machine
  • Enter the recipient number as described in the above formula.

2- With Online Fax Services

If you do not have any type of fax machine, you can still send international fax by using online services. Some of these services are free, some of them give one month free trial. You can search for these fax services online and choose one of them. Use the account given by your fax provider to send fax. I have chosen as an online fax provider onlinefaxes.com, but you can choose whichever you want.

Click on the link and sign up for an account. Then sign into the account to compose a fax. Before starting to international faxing, you should contact with the Customer Service so that they can activate your account for international fax.

First, click on "International Fax" check box.
Fill in the recipient information and click on "Add Recipient" button. After you clicked on this button, you will see your recipient information in the Fax Recipient List on the right. You can keep adding new recipient to the list to send the same fax to multiple recipients. After you finished with adding recipients, click on the "Next" button.

After clicking the "Next" button, you will see a screen like below and you will asked to upload documents that you want to send via fax. Types of these documents could be PDF, JPG, DOCX, CSV etc.

After you uploaded the documents, each document will appear on the right, in Fax Documents List in which you can edit and sign the documents. After you are done with the documents, click on the "Send Fax" button. After you clicked this button, you will see a screen like below:

You can check the status of the sent faxes from the following folders: Sent and Processing as shown in the below picture.

3- With Gmail
Assuming now that you have an online service provider, you can again send your fax simply by emailing. Here how it happens:

Click on "Compose" button to compose a new email.

Now, you are composing new email but with a little different. The difference only comes from "To" section. Instead of a regular email address, you will type here the following:

To: RecipientFaxNumberIncludingCountryCode@YourOnlineFaxProvider

For example: +903123061234@onlinefaxes.com
Please be careful that my online fax provider here is onlinefaxes.com. You may need to replace this part according to your online fax provider.

You may fill the Subject and body of the email. These parts will be used to form cover letter of your fax. After you filled out all related sections, click simply "Send" button to send your email.
Then, you are all done! Congratulations!

Star Wars ASCIImation with Python - Windows

In this post, we'll watch a Star Wars movie in ASCII format. The only thing we need for this demo is Python-installed PC and internet connection. Figure : Screenshots from Python Command line while Star Wars is being streamed All credits gained in this demo will go to " blinkenlights.nl " [2] website, which broadcasts this ASCII movie using Telnet protocol on Port 23, and Python which makes socket implementation very easy for us. No authentication is needed for this broadcast. Anyone who is able to create a TCP socket and listens  blinkenlights.nl  on port 23 would be able to get this stream and display on their Python command line. CODE My main source for Python source code is [1]. What  code below does is simply importing Python "socket" library, create a socket, use " towel.blinkenlights.nl " address variable to create connection, receive data from socket and display it. While typing (copy/paste) code, be careful about indentatio...

STORY: Most Challenging Bug

It was an embedded software running on a specific hardware. Software was consisting of different modules for each task. The functionality that I was testing was related to two different modules which are written by two different developers. Required functionality was not working and test was failing consistently. Then, we debugged the Module-1 with Developer-1, Module-1 seemed to work properly. Then, we debugged the Module-2 with Developer-2, Module-2 also seemed to work surprisingly. Of course, each developer was blaming the other developer for the fault : ) Then I suspected about my own test case and re-reviewed and inspected it again, but test case also seemed as OK. Afterwards, we suspected about the software testing tool and debugged it with the developer of the test tool. Not surprisingly, test tool also seemed to work properly : ). Ooopsss. What is next? The next suspicious guy was the data buses between test tool and the software/hardware. Then we checked data...
